Our wedding cake which was made by Linda
Lamble was beautiful and topped by a very cute pair of dolphins. Rather
than just having one big wedding cake as I'm not a big fan of butter
cream and prefer whipped cream, we elected to have a smaller wedding
cake on display and then we had two half sheet cakes, one was whipped
cream and fresh strawberries (my dad is still talking about that cake)
and the other was chocolate mouse with whipped cream. The cakes were
delicious and I'm the lucky one, I still have some in the freezer!
Jonathan was under orders NOT to mash
cake in my face by the way ... but he did put just a smidgen on my nose
and of course I had to retaliate! |

When it came time for the bouquet toss, I
really didn't aim it at anyone at all, but it fell right into my friend
Evie Olmem's hands. There were only 4 single guys to vie for the garter
and my nephew Richie enthusiastically pumped the air with his fist when
he grabbed it victoriously from two tall guys. I said to Richard
Bray, the best man, I really thought you would be the one to catch it
being so tall. He said "I really didn't think I'd have to
try!"
Not long after that the heels came OFF,
and it was comfy gym shoes for me! |
|
People started leaving around 6:30pm (and I
must make mention that the shiba folks were among the last to go!) and I was
sad that it ended so early ... that is until we were on our 2nd or 3rd trip
back to our house and it was 9:30pm and we were REALLY tired.
It was an unforgettable day and a perfect
wedding. Thanks to everyone who was a part of it!

Jonathan and I need to thank a number of
people for their help in arranging this event.
-
Our parents for their love and
support.
-
Fred & Nancy Carroll who offered
up their property when I was talking about where to have the
wedding. It was a tremendous amount of work for them and we both
appreciated it so much. The best part for them? They could go to a
wedding and not have to worry about driving!
-
My sister Aldona for being my Maid of
Honor, we won't talk about how much she paid for the makeup I told
her to buy ;), but I think it was all worth it, she looked fabulous.
-
Debbie Schaeffer and her friend
Dorian. Debbie helped me out with a lot of details for the wedding
and helped me find Rebecca (also at the last minute, yeah, I did a
lot of stuff last minute and see how well it worked out!) and Dorian
pitched in on the day and directed parking with the same great flair
he exhibited on the dance floor
-
Ice El Dissi for being my flower girl
at the last minute and for the lovely picture she drew for us as a
present
-
My friends at Eltek Energy for the
surprise wedding shower (and I was REALLY surprised!) and gift that
helped me buy the great flowers.
-
Our vendors:
-
Mindy Moistner and Grand
Rental Station in Crystal Lake, IL
-
My wedding dress was from
BridesMart in Schaumburg, thanks to Sarah who did all the
alterations, Jonathan's suit was from Nordstrom's.
-
Spinnin

-
Dennis
Burke Photography (although we had the understudy who was
great!)
-
Linda Lamble in McHenry who makes
the world's best cakes
-

-
That Pasta Place in Grayslake, IL

-
Wanderfuls

Rita's Dance Studio in McHenry,
