Shiba Breed Description
- General appearance: small, moderately-built dog with pointed
ears and a curled or sickle tail. Often has prominent, rounded cheeks and a
foxy appearance.
- Temperament: Some Shibas are friendly and outgoing, some

Shibas dislike being restrained, and will struggle and scream during nail trimming
and bathing. (This is typical for the breed and DOES NOT indicate a problem
temperament!)
- Size: usually between 13-17 inches at the shoulder, average
weight 16-25 lbs.
- Coat: medium-short plush double coat, about 1-2 inches
long.
