Happy Thanksgiving!Happy Thanksgiving and shiba smiles to everyone. This morning I was watching the Today Show and saw a really heartwarming story about two kids that started a project called Turkeys R Us in 1996 so that families in need could have a turkey on their Thanksgiving table... read more about it at Turkeys R Us Shibas at Lake ShoreThis weekend we showed at Crete, IL. Saturday's judge was Clover Allen and Sunday's judge was Karen McFarlane. Best of Breed both days was Anne Rappaport's specials bitch shown by Chris Jones, I didn't get her picture because usually Chris has to run off to another ring, but one of these days I will snag her. Best of Opposite both days was my Jimmy, who actually SHOWED today! BW, WD both days was Pat Doescher TJ aka High Jinx Black Reign (his picture was too dark to print). WB on Saturday was Pat Doescher's Lotus, aka Hi-Jinx Black Lotus and Sunday was Karen Drentlaw's Pekoe (for a 4 point major on Sunday woohoo!). While I included owners in the pictures, they just weren't real flattering of Pat or Karen and so I expect money in the mail next week :) I felt that both judges enjoyed judging shibas particularly, and Clover Allen actually told me that she thought they were a neat breed. They were both patient with fidgety shibas on the table and I remember that Ms. McFarlane did check for full dentition, I don't remember if Ms. Allen did or not. Shibas at West BendI'm waiting on pictures for this show from Kathy Dwyer ... however, as I recall, Rosie Van Laanen's Cheesy was Best of Breed over a special the first day from the BBE class, and on Sunday Evelyn Behren's Hanna Banana shown by Tammy Szabo was Best of Breed the second day. Jimmy was the special on the first day but he really wasn't liking that show site and we were on early so didn't have time to acclimate him, so I pulled him on Sunday. Nari wins the National!
