The MS Walk began promptly at 9 am at the Schaumburg, Busse
All 29 Tenacious Tigers! Team members were ready to go when the song was finished,
crossing the starting arch of balloons as a team. The Tenacious Tigers! Team was
easily identified, because, prior to the start, each member donned their team T-shirt
from Munson Jewelers and a bandana with the Tenacious Tigers! logo handmade by Andrea
Baptist. It was a beautiful site!
Almost immediately, we could tell who was there to beat a walking speed record,
because the group did not stay together long with the speedsters taking off, and
walking at a good clip. The rest of us met them on their return, chatting, interrupting
their stride, and offering encouragement!
We all finished the walk in good shape, laughing, talking, and enjoying the
day.
When the PA system started playing the popular song “YMCA” a few of The Tenacious
Tigers! danced out the song along with the temporarily, and thankfully – idle Emergency
Vehicle staff. The energy was evident
as the two groups moved in time with this spirited beat!
Many walkers and other supporters gathered at an after-walk reception hosted by
the Carlburg’s. Rebecca had prepared delectable homemade chicken enchiladas, and
scrumptious manicotti pasta dishes, along with a great salad. Fresh strawberries
topped off the delicious meal, along with some other great desserts brought by participants.
MMMMMM-mmmm, good! Everyone enjoyed the festive food and camaraderie. We
forgot our tired feet and concentrated on filling our tummies, and sharing stories.
Thank you for your kindness in supporting this cause.
It helps those of us with the condition, to know there is money and support
to develop treatments, hopefully find a cure, and educate individuals and businesses
about Multiple Sclerosis. Your gift makes a difference and gives us hope. On behalf
of the Tenacious Tigers! I thank you for your support.

The Tenacious Tigers! Team Leader
P.S. The team is named after my dog, a Shiba Inu, Tiger, who walked the entire route,
checking out members, ensuring we all were doing well. We could tell he was not
only a tenacious Tiger, but a tuckered Tiger at the end of the walk because he jumped
in the car and did not move a muscle all the way home! Three miles is a long walk
for a ten-year-old dog. He was happy to be part of the team and wants to join the
many other pooches who shared their positive energies with the walkers again, next
year!
